PHILLIPINES

Can you guess? This country has one of the worts traffic in the world. This country has one of the worst airport in the world. This country has a very large population. Corrupt goverment officials, low economic growth, rally here, rally there, and squaters here, beggars there. Left and right problems about crimes and murders. If you still can't answer, here's another one, this country is being bullied by China. Right! It's one and only the Phillipines. Not all bad things refer to this country, it is also have good things. One of that is the amazing characteristics of Filipinos.To the north of the Philippines across the Luzon Strait lies Taiwan; Vietnam sits west across the South China Sea; southwest is the island of Borneo across the Sulu Sea, and to the south the Celebes Sea separates it from other islands of Indonesia; while to the east it is bounded by the Philippine Sea and the island-nation of Palau. Its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and close to the equator makes the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons, but also endows it with abundant natural resources and some of the world's greatest biodiversity. At approximately 300,000 square kilometers (115,831 sq mi), the Philippines is the 64th-largest country in the world.With a population of about 100 million people, the Philippines is the seventh-most populated country in Asia and the 12th most populated country in the world. An additional 12 million Filipinos live overseas, comprising one of the world's largest diasporas. Multiple ethnicities and cultures are found throughout the islands. In prehistoric times,Negritos were some of the archipelago's earliest inhabitants. They were followed by successive waves of Austronesian peoples. Exchanges with Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Islamic states occurred. Then, various nations were established under the rule of Datus, Rajahs, Sultans or Lakans.

Being so hospitality to visitors,is one a million good characteristics of Filipino. You can tell how they trait tourist and visitors from other country. Even in a normal home, when there is someone who came, everybody in the family joyfully welcome. It's very nice because of this trait many tourist are encourage to visit the Phillipines. Filipinos are known for being hardworking so because of that many countries in the world want Filipinos as their workers or employee. Many filipinos fly abroad to make a living and to double their earnings than here in the Phillipines. But some countries abuse this kind of mentality of Filipinos and use and treat them like slaves. Some Overseas Filipino Workers are even victims of physical and sexual abuse of foreigners but they still conqure all of this for the sake of their families in the Phillipines, counting on them. Being hardworking of Filipinos are also with being thrifty with everything. Being thrifty are not only in money but also in material things. The thriftiness of Filipinos has a good and bad side. In the good side, Filipinos really don't throw away things that easilly especially those things that can be recycled. Old notebooks, plastic bottles, sacks, tin cans, aven plastics. They are just so creative that they find a way on recycling things.

3P'S : THE PEOPLE'S POPE IN THE PHILLIPINES

Its been a year after the traumatic event in Tacloban, the supertyphoon Yolanda. Many people lost their loved ones, some even lost their mind, and most of them even abandoned hope because of this tragic phenomena. The whole world witness how this people strive for survival, they've we've seen how they get up again with their trembling legs and seek help. For me a year or so is not enough for the Yolanda survivors to recover because the pain that cause by this event needs a lot of process. But I believe that with the prayers for them and them being close to God nothing is impossible. It's a magnificent timing that our beloved Pope Francis visits us especially those at Tacloban and the survivors. I've watch the three days Papal visit, starting from the Pope's arrival to his last mass in the UST (University of Sto. Tomas) but the most memorable and encouraging activity of Pope Francis during his stay here in the Phillipines is his mass held in the open grounds of Tacloban.

The whole field was filled with people who wants to listen to the word of God and also to see the Pope. The crowd of people remain firm despite the rainy weather that like it sympathazing with the people of Tacloban that day. "The People's Pope" is one with the people during that event because the Pope also use raincoat just like the people are using for protection to the rain.Pope Francis chose to speak in Spanish, his own language, during his sermon to deliver his message clearly to the people but also with the help of his translator. We are surely moved and touch with the Pope's encouraging qoutes for us Filipinos. Some peopple who join the mass can't help not to be emotional maybe because of the Pope' presence by the will of God. The whole cooperation of the Filipinos during the Papal's visit is the evidence how dedicated and serious Filifinos are in their faith to God. The most memorable qoutes of Pope Francis that really stack in me is this " When you stop dreaming because when you stop, you will forget to love...". This qoute is very true to me because when stop dreaming for the future, you will forget how to love yourself and your life. Many worthy qoutations are given by the Pope and some of them are even written in t-shirts and with the use of the social media, updates about the Papal visits are very easy to know and very accesible. It's sad because some communicatio network shutdown the signal to the whole Manila for the safety of the very important guest but the people didn't mind because they care for him. Lower crime rates are observed in Metro Manila during the 3-day visit. I thought this only happens when Manny Pacquiao has a boxing fight.

This are one of my favorite quotes by Eros Atalia. If you didn't familiarize by this amazing writer, you are missing something and being left out.I first read his book "tatlong araw, tatlong gabi" and I found it very awesome. It makes my whole body trembled with fear and horror. this book is a must and also Eros Atalia's other masterpieces. But who is this writer I'm talking about? let me tell you.


Eros Atalia (born in July 10, 1975) is a half filipino writer who is known for his humorous works that challenge the readers to see the extraordinary from the ordinary. He is also lecturer, panelist resource person and speaker in local and national conferences, seminars and workshops in language, linguistics, literature, creative writing, journalism and pedagogy. Education Atalia finished Bachelor of Secondary Education Major major in Filipino in Philippine Normal University in 1996 and Master of Arts in Language and Literature – Filipino in De La Salle University – Manila in 2008.

" Tatlong araw, Tatlong gabi " is a one of the novel made by Eros Atalia.
Well, this is my first time to find a book that is so worth it to be read or should I say really catch my attension. At first, I thought that this book is all about war of the clans for fields and farms just like any other books or novels. Honestly, I first saw Eros in a show "Brigada" and I thought that he is the mysterious Bob Ong because of his style in writing but he personally denied it. When I read the back cover of the book I was shock when I discover that this is a horror novel and not in the one Im thingking.
And one of the reason why I really fall in love to Atalia is because of his creative way of telling horror stories and not the one that you usually read in the booklet pinoy horror stories. Amazing!
Okay, stop to for the reasoning and start expalaining whats inside this novel. I will only give you a hint of details because I dont want you to be spoiled. Let me introduce you to our hero, Raymundo, who searching for himself who will encounter many different kinds of character and their stories in town of Magapok, a town that is under attack by "Malakat", a mysterious creature, and different forces of society believed that this is the reason or the cause why and how people in the town are lost one by one. In this novel, Atalia show the strong relaitionship between neighbors, beliefs between the truth and supersticious.Theres Lumen, fiesta, gay pageant, patron, NPA, hunts, nature and manmade destruction at the mountain, broken relaitionship of Nana Etang and Mang Berong, lost of six children because of the tension, dead people everywhere, where will the lovers go to escape.Let the pages take you to the town of Magapok, with a bunch of memories by the main character, Mong, and with his return in this town, you will experience the sweet and bitter taste of memories that lingers in the plain ground of Magapok. Just like the other books of Eros Atalia, this will tickles and pinch you and sometimes the pages will triped you without you knowing. If you fall, patience. Little by little the events will grabs you to your conciousness. This will make you tightly hold the book until you will be buried nad cannot escape into the mysteries in the town of Magapok. Pack and gather enough strength and courage to your journey with Mong. Mon and Lumen are on every page and this will proves that even can't escape the worry and terror. This will show how words can show the emotion that can't be expressed. Feel the terror that you did'nt notice that at your back..

    erm "cosplay" is a Japanese portmanteau of the English terms costume, and role play. 'Costume' means kosu and 'play' means pure. Cosplay costumes vary greatly and can range from simple themed clothing to highly detailed costumes. It is generally considered different from Halloween and Mardi Gras costume wear, as the intention is to replicate a specific character, rather than to reflect the culture and symbolism of a holiday event. As such, when in costume, some cosplayers often seek to adopt the affect, mannerisms, and body language of the characters they portray (with "out of character" breaks). The characters chosen to be cosplayed may be sourced from any movie, TV series, book, comic book, video game, or music band anime and manga characters. Some cosplayers even choose to cosplay an original character of their own design or a fusion of different genres.One ofits benefits are might be to express adoration for a character, or in feeling similar to a character in personality, seeking to become that character. This type of cosplayer may be described by being a fan. Such cosplayers are most likely to adopt the character's personality and are known to criticise other cosplayers for not having a full knowledge of their character, or not also adopting character mannerisms. Other characteristics may include manner and less attention to detail and quality.

BE A HERO!

             Im so glad that Disney release a new movie from the makers of FROZEN,a hit movie 2014. I didnt read the real comic but the movie was so good and it really blow me away. This tale set in the gleaming near-futuristic metropolis known as San Fransokyo where trolley cars and an Asian-infused Golden Gate Bridge happily co-exist. Amazing right! and this expression really stuck in me- “Stop whining! Woman up!” 

                   14-year-old hero actually named Hiro a lad whose already has his high-school diploma. This scrawny lad invests his smarts into winning underground robot fights with simple electronic toys that he design himself.

          But after Hiro's older brother Tadashi invites him to check out his college’s robotics lab with thoughts of enrolling. There he meets a team of nerd tech specialists. Thanks to his science project involving microbots, Hiro is accepted at the school. Then tragedy strikes after a fire traps and kills both Tadashi and Prof. Callaghan who was going to be Hiro’s mentor. With no parents and his brother gone, Hiro retreats into his bedroom in the apartment above a coffee shop run by his worrywart Aunt Cass.This generation are really addicted in online gaming and virtual world. Easy access to internet and game zones make them really give in to this new found kind of game. Internet connection, desktop computer, a bench, and they're on. It's very dangerous and threatening for the society when the youngsters are drowned with this temporary entertainment brought by online gaming.Broken future, regrets and dissapointment are the results that teenagers get as thay go along their own path without really thingking what they really want and what they really want to be. We can't blame them if they end up miserable in the future because its the job of their parents to guide them to have a better tomorrow. They say that teens today. live as " wild, young and free" and I guess it true. With the influence of easy access to the internet and the addiction given by social media, most of teenagers in our society today are so liberated and independent even in a young age. They easily give in addiction and temptations. Because of this most of them also incounter so many problems that they are not ready for. This movie proves that theres sunlight after the rain. Pain can be healed and ached can concealed. Just look at Hiro. As a teen, he naturally get sad about his dead brother but he chose to live and go on with life.In our soceity toay, many teenagers experience many kind of tragic events and problems in life. Some of them even lead to being depressed and feeling frustrated and if not treated properly can lead to suicide and death. Teenagers are really prone to this kind of scenario because as we all know being teens are the very crucial stage of life because here we incounter many hard challenges whether it is physical, emotional, mental, and social. Teens when facing difficult problems are also really fragile and can be negatively influenced by others easily. In this stage they need support and guidance specially from those who really know them and and really care for them. Good and right guidance from family, fiends, and love ones are needed for them to be leaded to a better path of life and to show them what is right or wrong. There are tendencies that teens can be mischievous in making decisions and trusting themselves without consultation from trusted people like parents and good friends.

Imagine a white 10-foot-tall inflatable robot programmed to tend to the sick.Baymax is dedicated to heal all sorts of painof the little Hiro.If you haven’t guessed, Hiro along with a soon team up with  Baymax and the four lab geeks form a crew of avengers. Their mission is to seek a mysterious maskman suspected of setting the accident that cause of Tadashi's death as well as stealing Hiro’s invention. There are loud actions but none are as thrilling as the sight of Hiro and Baymax friendship.

At the final hour of the movie have thrilling twist. That can make you go at the edge of your seats. I really like “Big Hero 6” for promoting an anti-violence and usage of guns or traditional weapons. This action movie fits for teenagers like Hiro who suffered heartache due to loss of a family or loved one. It also showsthat no matter whhathappens or life throws at you it doesnt mean that you will give up because wjen life throws you lemons,make a lemonade. The most catchy and encouraging qoute in the movie for me is the "look at a different angle".

Stay until the very end of the movie if you want to see a the real story. And resist distructions at the climax stand or else regret because Im sure you don’t want to miss a second of this movie. It's better for you to buy a copy of the movie in cd because I'm sure you will watch this over and over again. Gather your siblings,playmates or anybody and be ready to be amazed by this robot and kid combo.  
       

SWORD ART ONLINE

                                  When I first saw this anime in the television, I already knew that this is the anime for me. Its story catch me. the story of a two people meet in a online virtual world which played mentally by players. Two main characters are trying to finish the game to survive and to get back to the real wordlad. Kirito and Asuna are the characters that I really admire in this anime because of their courage and the stongness of their relaitionship. Even though, many challenges they face them together. This anime is very different anime I watch before because the story was very unique and fresh. This is Sword Art Online.
                                                    Sword Art online is a Japanese light novel series written by Reki Kahawara.(love this guy!). The series takes place in the near-future and focuses on various virtual-reality worlds. . The series has eight manga adaptations published by ASCII Media Works. Sword Art Online has received a lot of success, this anime/novel sold over 16 million copies in several countries including Japan, Taiwan, China, South Korea, Thailand, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The anime series has received a lot of positive reviews from critics, with some praising the adventure of the psychological aspects of virtual reality.
                   

           This anime was only televized in cable so only few commoners know about this but this very popular anime hit Sword Art Online premiered on TV 5 last Saturday, surprisingly became one of the top trending topics in the Philippines during the time it is on-air.This will be the first time an anime title had appeared on Twitter’s trending topics, at least in the Philippines.( nice!)Proving itself as one of the most awaited latest anime series to hit Philippine TV and also by me. Sword Art Online trends at No. 8 during it’s pilot episode.

                                                                           The phrase “Sword Art Online” trended in the Philippines for at least an hour & a half on Saturday.On the second episode aired on Sunday, “Sword Art Online” catapulted again to Twitter’s top trending topics, going to at least the 7th spot. It also became the No. 10 trending topic in Davao City during the show’s airing on Sunday.

                 According to Oricon, Sword Art Online was the top selling light novel series of 2012, with eight volumes figuring among the top selling light novels. It was ranked first in the 2012 and 2013 Kono light novel rankings, as well as top ten placement in 2011, 2014 and 2015.(AMAZING RIGHT!)
